A Phillips screwdriver (often referred to as Philips (+)) is a type of screwdriver specifically designed for driving Phillips-head screws. Phillips screws are characterized by their cross-shaped (or "X-shaped") recess, which is intended to provide a better grip than a flathead screw, reducing the likelihood of the screwdriver slipping out during use.
